Biography

A classically trained cellist, he has always been dedicated to a continuous dialogue between different musical languages, ranging from improvisation to composition. His artistic research thrives on the synergy between the rigor of the academic tradition, compositional writing, arrangement, and the exploration of improvisation in all its forms, including jazz.

In 2024, he conceived Different Roots, a project for solo cello that explores the deep roots of music by rediscovering pieces from diverse genres—from folk to jazz, through early music—reinterpreted through original arrangements and paired with his own compositions. He is currently developing a new project for string trio, inspired by iconic historical and legendary figures from both Western and Eastern cultures.

His concert activity has led him to perform at major national and international venues, festivals, and theaters. Notable highlights include the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Teatro Municipal in Santiago, the Parco della Musica in Rome, the Auditorium Paganini in Parma, as well as historic festivals such as Folkest and the Jasmine Festival in Jerusalem. Over the years, he has collaborated with prominent figures on the Italian and international music scenes, including Enrico Bronzi, Francesco Dillon, Carlo Boccadoro, Giuseppe Gavazza, Venegoni & Co., Tom Harrell, and Ezio Bosso.

After earning his Diploma and Master’s Degree in Cello under the guidance of Paola Mosca at the Conservatory of Cuneo, he pursued advanced studies with Dario Destefano, Boris Baraz (Moscow Soloists), and Francesco Dillon (Prometeo Quartet). He has participated in masterclasses held by Enrico Bronzi, David Cohen, Alain Meunier, Michael Sanderling, and the Altenberg Trio, deepening his chamber music repertoire with Antonello Farulli, Andrea Nannoni, and Manuel Zigante at the Fiesole School of Music. Parallel to his classical path, he studied jazz improvisation and arrangement with Gianni Negro, Giovanni Scotta, and Riccardo Zegna, while also earning brilliant achievements in national and international competitions throughout his training.

In 2015, he co-founded the chamber music project Gli Archimedi, an ensemble dedicated to exploring and blending diverse musical genres within a chamber music setting, maintaining a significant partnership with them until 2023. With the trio, he recorded the albums “Forvojagi” and “Nostoi” (New Model Label). In 2023, he released his first solo album, “Questi Diversi Mondi”, under the Da Vinci Classics & Jazz label.
